So we had a shift abandonment today. This one barista flip flopped between asking for the days off then saying their plans fell through and would work. Cue two days before today just casually informed me - an SSV - that they would not show up for the next 2 shifts because of ‘days off’. Didn’t even inform the SM and the SM only found out through me. Then never bothered to look for coverage.

My SM was kind enough to turn off MOP/delivery. Cue the angry regulars asking why our MOP was off. I informed them that due to inadequate staffing, we had to turn it off then was met with ‘well, you should put up a sign or something or have something say that on my mobile!’ I’m sorry that the app automatically re-routed you to another store nearest to you but you didn’t bother to look. So yeah, it’s been a fun filled day with only 2 people in a cafe store for 6 hours.
