so today i was on drive thru aka my happy place. and a guy came through and had two separate orders for his car. okay, cool, easy no prob.

so he pulls up to the window, and i recognize him just from coming through every once in a while. super nice customer and always brings good vibes. and he tells me, “hey cancel that second order. i forgot my friend didn’t give me my card back so i can’t pay”. so i told him, hey don’t worry about it, it’s on us today. bc being nice gets you things as a customer.

this man looked like i gave him my first born child. he was so kind and grateful. and it’s no skin off my back, and his drinks were nearly finished, so whatever no big deal.

he asks me if there’s a way he can write to the store about how i am, and quote “the best barista he’s ever met” and how i made his day amazing. it’s these little interactions that remind me why i enjoy my job. customers like him are why i haven’t quit.
