There are some days at work I feel as though COVID is really making our customers insane. I already work in a rather rich priveleged area so that’s a given. Last night I was closing with two of my shifts. I was taking our last order before close over the headset and we heard a guy honk behind this car. Now granted, the car ordering gave us a huge order one minute before close. Anyway I told guy who honked that that was the last order we could take. He just went off. He screamed “ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” And started screaming threats at us. As soon as I finished up handing out the order to the last car one of my shifts ran and locked the window and shoved all of us in the back. Man was banging on our drive thru window. After he drove away we thought this was it over. But nope he made circles around the building honking for a solid 10 minutes. It was terrifying to say the least. I don’t get why people do this over coffee.

We have had a guy do this while we were closing one night. he was hitting the windows so hard I really thought they were going to break. The police talked to him and made sure we all got to our cars safely. I’m so sorry you had to deal with that man child😢

Fucking crazy that I'd believe it. We have a regular that threw a hot drink at a teenage barista in the town over. She got banned from that location but not all of them. She now comes to my store. I'm so scared to mess up her drink when she comes

Its funny because people think that if they act out we are going to help them anyways , just turn up the store music and tune him out , call the cops because at this point he is being a threat

Our DISTRICT has a guy that’s notorious for being a massive dick to baristas, especially new ones. But he’s never banned because when confronted he just “turns on the charm.” I refuse to interact with him at all when he comes in. My mental health is my priority.

One time I wouldn't let my nephew drink some of my Venti Macchiato, because he shouldn't have espresso, and he head butted me!! Disclaimer: he was 1.5yrs old and needed a nap, so a tantrum was to be expected! A grown ass man??? HELL NO! Go take a nap, asshole!

Why isn't this shit in the news? People literally harassing food service employees and vandalizing buildings because sometimes stores close and you cannot get whatever you want 24 hrs a day, seven days a week.

My (cafe-only) store went on reduced hours (8-2 instead of 5-8) because a few partners had symptoms and had to get tested before coming back to work. One of the days we closed early, someone threw a brick at our only door. We had a sheet of plywood on the frame for a week. The caffeine addiction is intense 😳
