There is a lot going on right now politically and with the protests, but cops are people. We can't stereotype them all, that's what we're fighting against.

As someone who gets incredible anxious around authority figures for no reason, it actually makes my day when officers come through drive and we have a normal conversation.

Why do you feel weird about it?

There was a cop that helped us with a situation at our store the other day and we gave him a drink and thanked him, just like we do the truck guys. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with treating them like their people, unless they’re just being an asshole but that’s with any customer.

So you feel bad for being nice to someone who didn’t do anything wrong to you? I totally get being skeptical of people’s intentions, especially in light of BLM because things have been super bad, but to feel weird about being nice to someone seems odd to me.
