So I was on register today, and bounced over to warming, making sure no one was immediately coming inside, since bar was packed with about fifteen people's orders and obviously needed help. I was gone for maybe 5 seconds tops, and this lady leans over the counter and yells 'IS THERE ANYONE HERE THAT CAN TAKE MY ORDER???' And so I rush back, and she had pulled her mask off. She was leaning to the side AROUND the plexi, with her damn mask on her chin. Since masks are now required, I politely ask her to pull her mask up. She stares at me for a solid three seconds, and after the intense eye contact, she pulls it up an goes 'can I get a water?!' 'Sure, what size?' I ask, still making sure to keep a polite tone. Lady stares at me again, so I repeat it louder, thinking she might have not heard me due to the masks. 'Medium.' 'Alright and can I get your name for the order?' 'No!' And she walks off. And while I'm on register, this lady is standing right in front of the hand off plane just giving me the death glare. A partner comes and I get sent on my ten, and I book it off the floor, not even asking to be marked out for anything since I didn't wanna chance having her bitch at me. I was genuinely concerned she was going to harass me or something worse.
After my ten another partner told me that she pissed him AND my shift lead off. They were trying to hand off a mobile order and she just would not move out of the way. They asked her politely to move as she was in the way of someone, but she kept trying to take that over persons order? And she kept bitching 'I just don't understand why my water isn't done yet, ITS AN ICE WATER!!!' And my fellow partner explained that we have to go in order of the drinks, and if she could please wait in the middle area to comply with social distancing, and that we would call it out as soon as we could. She said no, make her drink right now, this is ridiculous. Well, my coworker had a very shitty night the night before, and sorta snapped. 'Ma'am, you have been ugly since you walked into the store. You will get nothing unless you act like a lady.' And she finally shut her mouth and went to the middle area. My shift lead obviously had a talk with him, but since he had not had the best of nights, let him off with a warning.
If it had been me that snapped I would've told her to look at the fifteen people behind her that were waiting patiently for their drinks in the correct area, and that if she didn't know how to wait her turn she should go back to kindergarten to re-learn.
