Probably because someone once kindly put it in a venti because of all the additions, and then it ended up tasting too much like coffee.

I legit tell these customers that I only drink tea (I don’t, my blood is blonde ristretto shots) and then tell they they can take caffeine pills for the boost.
Some people listen, some Keep Ignorant and Karen On.
Assiqtaq2 points3y ago
One of these days I'm going to have to try blonde ristretto. We don't have blonde espresso at my location.
deathxbyxsnusnu1 points3y ago
WHAT?
It will change your life. I’m a snob and have always preferred lighter roasts (more complex profile, more caffeine) but swapping the caramel out of a blonde cold brew and subbing in WM and topping with extra SC cold foam will set your world on firrrrre. Just remember to put a tiny splash off the hot tap so the WM will loosen and dissolve a bit.
That and an iced blonde white mocha with SC cold foam in lieu of whip just tastes like summer. They’re less sweet and not cloying because you use 1 less pump per recipe when pulling blonde shots.

I did yes lmao
Jeffuk8811 points3y ago
And did they ask "Is this a grande?"
boxinghamster16 [OP]8 points3y ago
Unfortunately I was on my 10 when they picked it up but I have to imagine so 😂
bigghostb00ty46 points3y ago
If you don’t like coffee, dark roast is definitely not the way to go!
xEman26x25 points3y ago
“bUt mOrE CaFfeInE!”
SkullJooce21 points3y ago
Doesn’t dark roast have leas caffeine ..? And blonde more?
xEman26x26 points3y ago
That’s the joke lol
sarkici17-16 points3y ago
Where did everyone hear this from? The whole blonde has more caffeine thing is complete bs. The difference between the caffeine levels is like 0.001% or something.
Edit: How am I being downvoted?? I even provided a source as proof. If y'all wanna keep spreading misinformation about coffee, that's cool; it's just a bit of an odd thing to do.

One of my biggest barista pet peeves was when people order a grande drink and add “in a grande cup” like ???
boxinghamster16 [OP]33 points3y ago
Like, you caught me! I was gonna sneak it into a tall, they're onto me!
sunshine45516 points3y ago
Or they order a iced Vt caramel macchiato and it says "triple". Like lmao you definitely know more than me, thanks for telling me how to do my job!
isglitteracolor8 points3y ago
This happened to me once when I mobile ordered a quad and then reordered but changed it back to the normal recipe the next time. I think it’s an app glitch
blackcoffeewithroom3 points3y ago
It's actually just a glitch in the mobile order customizations. If you go in to customize the cup size and pick a different size then *change it back to the original grande*, it will still show up on the sticker. Happens with any standard recipe.
snidejenner10 points3y ago
Right? Just get a latte at this point it's probably close in price with all the add ins lol
LadyDiplomat7 points3y ago
Exactly. Former barista here. The day I said outloud I don't like coffee because if I did I wouldn't have to load it up with sugar and cream was my turning point. I'm living a happy tea lifestyle now sans added crap. Seeing these types of orders makes me throw up in my mouth a little.
nohopo7 points3y ago
Cheaper than a latte lol i did this when i was trying to cut back on my sbux spending before i became a partner. It’s still ridiculous
bigghostb00ty4 points3y ago
Blonde is superior no matter what
boxinghamster16 [OP]2 points3y ago
True
culture_cypher4 points3y ago
had a regular who ordered a trenta iced coffee 15 pump vanilla, heavy cream, Xxtra caramel drizzle, extra ice ... used to joke with partners “yeah she hates coffee” it would literally be a splash of iced coffee
SkylerSayys6 points3y ago
We have a lady who orders ice coffee with extra cream and will say "i don't want to taste the coffee so I want EXTRA cream, okay?" So we'd hand out a drink, and if it didn't look almost identical to milk, she wouldn't take it. At least she admitted she didn't want to taste the coffee.
