Random sad starbucksStarbucks rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ej21vf
Hey everyone I’ve been working at Starbucks for the last year now and loved it so much everything was great. We just had a new manager switch in my store as the old one was promoted to district manager. So I met with her and told her I was moving to college. She told me due to COVID regulations I would have to leave the company as a whole and couldn’t work there on breaks from college. Kinda sad that it’s all coming to an end but I enjoyed it so much :)

That doesn’t seem correct? I could see her telling you you would have to take a leave of absence as it was part of the three option thing, but my cousin who works at Starbucks as well (I have a whole family of starbucks obsessed baristas) and she had the opposite. She was coming back home from college, Starbucks was her college job and she had a job back home. They basically told her just call us when your ready to come back or you can transfer if you’d like for extra money. She was a trainer as well. She got laid off from Starbucks during the pandemic but this all happened in like late march/April 2020 so during the pandemic

You can look at transferring to a store closer to where you go to school and then you’d have a chance of being able to transfer back to your home store during breaks. But yeah, Starbucks doesn’t hold positions for you like that. Even on an LOA you’re not guaranteed to return to your home store.
