I guess it all depends on if your store can support your schedule. I am limited to working only mornings as a SSV and my store can support that. At the moment, I work 25-30 hours a week.
I will say, however, that SSV is very demanding, especially during these current times. Most of those that I know in the position are stressed to the max right now, even with extremely well run stores.
I'm not trying to discourage you, because SSV does have its rewards too. I love my morning crew and appreciate how well we work as a team. I just want you to be prepared for a lot of hair-pulling moments to come so you aren't blindsided. Its an awesome experience if not a stressful one.

I wouldn’t recommend it. Even if they would promote you you don’t want that kind of stress in your life rn. I waited until I was done with school to be a shift

My store has 2 SSV’s that only work 3 days a week during the school year, but we also have full time SSV’s to work when they’re not here. It’s possible but it depends on the store

It depends if your store will need a shift with your availability. Before Covid happened my availability was very limited but it worked for the store. I only worked 20 hours as a shift and my availability Mon-Friday was only 8am to 2pm and full availability on weekends.
