What’s wrong with shortening macchiato to mac?
GreatWizardH0wl [OP]2 points3y ago
Technically nothing, except we had never heard someone do this before and had no idea what drink they were ordering, so it was my coworker asking a bunch of questions and him getting frustrated

You’ve never heard someone call a caramel macchiato a caramel mac? I feel like it’s extremely common.

Never. I've been working here for a year and a half. Maybe it's regional, or generational?

Maybe generational, when writing on cups was still being fazed out I’d shorten it further to C Mac when saying it cause the cup read as CM. I’ve been at sbux over 4 years
