tall rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by scarcelypolite
today a lady was waiting for her drink at the window (she had a nitro and didnt tell us at the speaker and drove straight through) i spilt almond milk on me so i used a napkin to dry everything on my shirt and the counter before finishing her drink because it was everywhere and after she left i used a sanitized towel to wipe it down because she was just staring at me so i wanted her out the window. 2 minutes later she called the store to complain about me using a napkin to wipe the counter because its so unsanitary and made her feel unsafe??? i actually hate people, it. was. a. napkin. and the counter did get cleaned!!!

Imagine going to a food service place where everyone is touching your food and drinks and feeling ‘unsafe’ because of the employee lmdao

Why can't we? I've worked three food service jobs before this, and this is the first one where I'm not constantly wearing gloves. Feels weird sometimes.

mostly because the heat from bars can melt the gloves, i believe you can use them in any other position if you wanted to as long as you arent making drinks/brewing coffee

Ahhhh that's interesting. Good to know, thanks!

Unless you blew your nose on the napkin first or left the soggy napkins on the counter I don’t see why it’s unsanitary.
