As cool as this is, ugh please don’t write on lids! They get stained to the point that you can’t make out which coffee it actually is. The sides are much better. Great artwork though!

Our setup has bins stored below the knees. Side labeling is not efficient. However, I agree things stain and thats why I chose these colors. Greens stain like a mofo, these don't (nearly as much at least)

Oh I’ve definitely had issues with the yellow and purple too. Below the knees? That’s strangely low. Most stores I’ve worked at have them stored in cabinet below the grinder. In which case the cube needs to be pulled out either way. The key is the roasts being consistently stored in the same place. Labeling is really for health code stuff anyways. Any container has to label what’s in it and expiration date. Most baristas who’ve had good training should be able to tell the difference between roasts by looking at the beans anyway.
Edit: so many downvotes lol.

You could just write "Pike" on top even if it's stained. That's what my store does. Ours are also down by our feet. Perhaps it's because it's a kiosk?
But yes, proper labeling is important and can get you marked down by the health inspectors if not done.

Huh, well that is interesting. In our store, because we also store these rather low and need it labeled on top, we have packing tape over where the date is on the lid. Not only does it really not stain, if we need to we can remove the tape and replace it.

Interesting. Raises a couple questions. At your store are cubes and lids washed every time it runs empty? Then you put tape on lids everyday? Things like stickers and tape are also not supposed to be on food contact items. Date dots are food safe.

We wash the lids with the tape, and no it has not peeled as of yet.
