No, our fridges aren't crooked. It's a panoramic picture.
serenity_flows13 36 points 2y ago
I was literally sitting here wondering if I was just tripping balls or if everything was just wonky AF there

Thank you for this clarification
snowdropvivi 7 points 2y ago
I see, thought the 1 shot of martini i had got me looking at things differently lol
AndrewtheRey 38 points 2y ago
At least it’s only brewed coffee and not ten million custom fraps
Kaywin 26 points 2y ago
What single person needs \*reads cup\* ***twelve*** tall black coffees at 9 at night!? At that point it's cheaper to buy a traveler anyway if you (and your pals) really need the caffeine, LOL. Easier to transport, too.
Mayachees 9 points 2y ago
Could be for a hospital
Kaywin 3 points 2y ago
So... traveler?

Unless all 12 staff are taking their breaks at the same time, I guess.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 8 points 2y ago
So I definitely brought this up when the order was picked up. It was for a movie shooting down the block (NYC life!!) And no travelers because of CoVid.
Kaywin 1 points 2y ago
Huh! Go figure. That makes more sense.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 3 points 2y ago
To clarify... We close at 530ish
Kaywin 1 points 2y ago
Thank you for clarifying, this makes way more sense. My store’s a drivethru and we close at 11 PM.
Unipanther368 2 points 2y ago
Even if it were just brewed coffee, it would be a nightmare. We don't have that much drip coffee on hand at once. Though not as bad as custom fraps lol.
wtchtrsh 1 points 2y ago
exactly what I was thinking
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Exactly. That was almost the amount of coffee we made throught half the day, so we definitely diidfnt have enough brewed. And it was 10 minutes before closing. We had our last urn on 1/4 and already had everything else running through the sanitizer and/or shut down
Unipanther368 1 points 2y ago
I feel sorry for you. 😅 That doesn't sound fun at all :(
[deleted] 26 points 2y ago
I’m just jealous that y’all don’t have the bar barriers....
Kaywin 13 points 2y ago
We don't have the bar barrier, but we do have one in our DriveThru between DTO and DTR that's **absolutely useless** except for almost killing baristas when we need to triple or mop the floor. We tried to talk to our DM about it but she said "It WaS sToPpInG tHe 'RoNa" so we just have to suffer with it.

I am genuinely confused. Is it supposed to protect all the rest of our staff from COVID coming in the window? Or is it supposed to protect DTR if DTO has The 'Rona?
howdudo 20 points 2y ago
ive seen partners come in and hug each other. talk face to face for 10 minutes then put on their mask and stand at the bars separated by the barrier. it cracks me up. u still have to reach around the bar barrier to get pumps! then when i complain im treated like a covid denier
Cuttis 1 points 2y ago
Yes! It’s the whole ‘we can only contract COVID from customers and not each other’ mentality. Even my (now former) manager was coming in unmasked and taking her sweet time putting it on
TheBlueSuperNova 15 points 2y ago
It’s there to make customers feel better. That’s all
Leaping_ezio 1 points 2y ago
Yes

Kaywin 4 points 2y ago
Nah, I appreciate you taking time out of your day to explain this to me. Our plastic barrier doesn't block airflow from the window, so my whole team were genuinely confused.
proletarithot 1 points 2y ago
My store doesn’t have a door to the back room, just an entry way. I love it.

Idk about your store but a lot of the baristas at my store are Coworkers Turned Friends. Or at least bar partners who both have fraps, teas, nitros, steeped/brewed, a random agave in a chai, a request for “not the raw sugar, the brown sugar from the oatmeal” ...

It’s hard to keep distance in such a small space.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 3 points 2y ago
Since there is a store every two blocks, we usually only have about three people working. And it's so small that bar barriers would literally extend completely across our back line
420TinyandMighty 11 points 2y ago
How did they mobile order 10 mins before close?! Am I just reading it wrong? Our mobile shuts off 30 mins before we close so the only way to order is cafe or dt
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 7 points 2y ago
Our store is testing different closing times, partners needed to close, etc since business is still pretty slow. I think they wanna see exactly how little time we could possible close down everything and get out the store.

I hate corporate. A whole bunch of people that have never been baristas making decisions that they think are efficient but are really just making our lives a nightmare.
wtchtrsh 1 points 2y ago
You can shut off one of your registers a half hour to close so mobile orders can’t go through. It’s usually register 2.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 1 points 2y ago
No can do. We are like literally down the block from corporate and they will randomly stop by to make sure we don't do things like that
wtchtrsh 1 points 2y ago
But mobile is supposed to be off 30 to close, so that doesn’t make sense? Otherwise someone could mobile order right before close and not get there in time.
FutureKnightMaybe 6 points 2y ago
Raissa are you ok? Please don’t drink those 11 Pikes by yourself.
Kaywin 2 points 2y ago
I think there are 12? The sticker says 12.
FutureKnightMaybe 1 points 2y ago
Wow I can’t count or read apparently lol
Kaywin 2 points 2y ago
At least they're only Pikes!
Unipanther368 1 points 2y ago
Better, true, but still a pain to brew that much since we never have that much on hand at once lol.
cooperskud 5 points 2y ago
We had someone come in 20 minutes till close and order 7 cake pops 10 fraps and a refresher. 1 shift 1 barista
golden_pinky 2 points 2y ago
They should make you unable to order that much pike. Just order two travelers you fucking monsters.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 2 points 2y ago
No travelers because of Covid mean while they are LITERALLY shooting a movie down the block
BreannaLyne 1 points 2y ago
That's what I thought too, but they are still able to do mobile and Uber orders and we just do them.
Unipanther368 2 points 2y ago
Or the Pikes with 20 sugars in them
TEMPEST-Attack 2 points 2y ago
Sounds like me being on my own. While the other 3 goof off. But god forbid either of them get this many and they yell at me for not helping.
Unipanther368 2 points 2y ago
Ooooooof. Talk to you manager about it maybe?

Yeah my store has the stupid plexi between DTO and Window and it drives us up a fucking wall. Even my SM hates it. After morning crew leaves, we tuck it behind the screen since we never have two people on drive after morning shifts. It would be nicer if we had a barrier between us and the customers in the drive
wtchtrsh 1 points 2y ago
Had time to take a picture though! Hahah. For me it’s: Last night, one barista, one shift, 10 minutes to close. A (most definitely high) lady carrying a chihuahua and dragging a skateboard enters the store to order some bevs with her mask in her hand instead of her face.. Do I need to say more or can you figure out the rest of the story?
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Had time to take a picture while the coffee was brewing

Seebass_12 1 points 2y ago
Why didn’t they order a traveler? It appears all the hot drinks are Pike.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 1 points 2y ago
We aren't selling travelers at the moment.
darkwolf523 1 points 2y ago
That be me sometimes lol
hominemed 1 points 2y ago
F
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 1 points 2y ago
The craziest part is they sent 1 person to pick them up.
ooooitsandrew 1 points 2y ago
And its on the old espresso machines damn that shit sucks
kbdouluvvme 1 points 2y ago
You can easily bust all of those out in like 7 minutes- tops. Maybe since those are the old shitty bars, 12 mins.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Except it's just me and the shift that are also trying to close the store, almost no coffee brewed because weve been brewing 1/4 all day and we are also still taking customers.. and almost everything is in the sanitizer or sink. Because we close in 10 min
kbdouluvvme 1 points 2y ago
Dude. Been there done that. It’s not that hard lol. I close every night. Our job is to make coffee. Make it brew a full batch and wait 4 minutes and your problem is solved.
aMohawkwarrior [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Oh well excuse me. Seems you've solved all of our problems. Even though I've addressed all of these things in my previous comments.
kbdouluvvme 0 points 2y ago
Thank you for acknowledging that I am in fact, a genius.
Sauceyd0ugh 1 points 2y ago
At least it’s drip coffee and not s’mores frapps
BachStrad007 1 points 2y ago
F in the chat for late closing
jangdangit 1 points 2y ago
Damn I felt that. Minus the second espresso machine cuz we’re Target and have half the equipment

Doesn’t your mobile order shut off 30 min before close?

Holy hell may the force be with you
VaporClad -1 points 2y ago
Damn. I would have given them decaf.
