“Hey I’m going back to school, here’s my new availability.”

If your SM is pissed about it they need to get a new job.

You're working for the company in exchange for money, they don't own your life. So you get to tell them what hours they can have of your life, and if they have a problem they can get pissy and try to make you feel guilty but they don't own you.

I believe it's 21 days in advance so it's a bit late but not too bad. Make sure you update it online as well.

This happens to half of the staff at every store, every year. If your SM doesn’t expect it, they must be new.

SM’s are only scary if you allow them to manipulate and control you. Exactly what the previous comment said. Say what you need, what you’re doing and how that’s going to change for your availability and schedule! Managers don’t define your availability. YOU DO! Good luck with school!
