We are training a new barista in my store and can’t seem to find resources about powders and inclusions.

When scooping powders and inclusions, is it level scoops, or heaping scoops? Not giant mounds but like nice scoops? We’re torn.

I was trained to do rounded scoops, by a 6 year partner

Given plenty of time I’d say nice scoops but when I’m in a rush all bets are off.

I was always taught level scoops but it depends on how busy it is honestly

Some times I feel like the lunch lady that gives out the green beans, some times it’s a little. Sometimes a lot. You get what the spoon grabs then you get out of my line.

It’s whatever you have time for while rushing to make it

I was taught that it's slightly rounded scoops for matcha, level scoops for vanilla bean, and level scoops for the stupid cloud powder. I try to measure matcha correctly, just because if there isn't enough it just kind of tastes like sweet grassy milk (depending on what you're making) and not enough matcha, so I end up doing rounded scoops. Cloud powder also requires some precision, but level scoops seem to work fine for that. For vanilla bean, you can kind of flex between either amount, it doesn't casue a super dramatic difference IMO.
