There is a new ticktok trend going around telling customers to ask for receipts. The receipt gives the customer our partner numbers to identify whose till it was executed on .
However people are using our partner numbers for free food and drinks . Please please please start checking ID's everyone.
This is definitely a problem !

why does tiktok hate us
Tajthegodking [OP]22 points2y ago
Because for our model is to always assume the best in others so they take advantage sadly 😔

For real. I feel like every single drink I make lately is some nasty tiktok trend being ordered by a rude customer who expects me to “just know” how to make the made up drinks with made up names....and now this.

Ok, so I googled it, and it looks like your partner numbers show up as an anonymous identifier at the top of a receipt. I never noticed that before.
This is probably part of why it's policy to ask for photo ID when someone you don't work with gets a markout at your store?

Post the tiktoks you find and let’s report them!

I hate this stuff. Im trans and my name in the system doesn't match on my id so when i get id'ed to use my partner numbers it's a whole deal and makes it seem like I'm lying bc of stuff like this
nullifiedmanic9 points2y ago
this has happened to me too & why i hate this policy so fucking much. i was at a store in a different state on vacation & told the (assuming) shift that my name is gonna be dofferent bc i dont go by my legal name, she responded in the MOST condescending way and said "ill give it to you bc the last names are the same but next time, make sure they match, mmkay?" and im like...... bitch you wanna pay the $300 court cost to get my name legally changed?????? anyway, i called Ethics & Compliance on her 🤗🤗
edit: this happened just over 2 years ago
randomyucky3 points2y ago
Literally it's impossible to get a name change where i live. Really wish I didn't have to out myself to multiple people just to use my numbers. My store usually goes by if they can say the first and last name when asked it's usually okay depending on the order. We had a group of very masc guys coming every day getting $30 worth of fraps every day with a partner number called Amber. (Also if they are reading it off their phone or something usually a red flag) when i asked for albers id they told me that wasnt them. Told them she could get fired for doing that and they snatched everything out of my hand and haven't been back since. Wish we could tell other stores in the area about them in case they are doing it there. (They had to pay full price for it that time and were always super smug and jerks before we caught them so it made us even more sus. Like if you are gonna use someone's discount somewhere you don't work, maybe don't act like you are getting away with something in front of employees 🤷♂️)
nullifiedmanic3 points2y ago
literally hate that for you & i am so sorry youre environment will not affirm your gender to the fullest. i dont know ive had any fraud with numbers but i remember a drunk dude at a bar tell me he would give out his numbers all the time.
another transphobic fuckbucks story: a year os so before i started at my old store, a trans partner went thru our DT. our SM was working DT & was like "wheres ur ID" to the partner. it was *KNOWN* she was a partner and my SM still tried forcing ID from her. she drove off without her stuff bc her self respect is more important than appeasing my bootlicker SM.
sbux really prides itself in being ~sO iNcLuSiVe~ and yet they have shit like this that outs their trans partners & not even to mention the fact part of corporate america & major fucking player in capitalism

Tbh I could probably ask around and figure out how to get my physical partner card and that would probably help some but not completely. As much as i hate seeing my dead name i kinda wish that when it pulled our numbers up for discount it had the dead name in parenthesis or smaller as a kind of "could also be this name on the id" to kinda prevent having to openly put myself
amcc041 points2y ago
is your last name the same in the system & your id? maybe you could use that instead & if they get REALLY nosy just tell them why it’s different?
I’m so sorry, I don’t really know how you would feel about that/if suggesting that is rude or anything. just wanna find a way to help (:

I am sorry that you have to deal with this . Hopefully something gives and Starbucks finds a new way to identify us on our reg .

can you get the app? You can load your virtual partner card into the app and add your numbers and that will verify that you’re the partner. Or you could look into ordering the physical card.
randomyucky1 points2y ago
I have the virtual card. It doesn't work all the time for some reason. I have looked into the physical card but with block scheduling there isn't really any time to sit down and order it

TikTok is cancer

God damn 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

Luckily my store is more than supportive of me. I go to my sm and told him what happened when i get id'd at stores in the district. He usually takes care of it for me. I get why they have to do it, just super frustrating that i have to out myself like that to a group of strangers. My partner card on the app doesn't always work for some reason (like it doesn't apply my discount when scanned) so it's mot like i can even use the easier option:/
ninjadott1 points2y ago
When you first download your partner card in the app, your numbers aren't tied to it. You have to go into my partner info and follow the prompts to link your numbers to your app. The best way to confirm that this worked is to start a mobile order and if the discount isn't there, then it didn't work. If it didn't work, there should be a number that you can call in the same section where you would try to link your numbers. Hopefully that helps!
