At this point we all know the absolute terror that is tik tok. Tags a mile long slowing down everyone in the middle of a rush. It’s honestly the worst.
Well, during my shift today i was informed of a new, detrimental trend going around. When receipts are printed, they print with the partner’s numbers at the top. (starbucks wtf?!?!?) like the full, unblocked number. Well apparently people are taking the numbers (and the name of the partner found easily on name tags/when introduced etc.) and pretending to be partners to get free drinks and food.
Be careful guys, maybe use a different name?

I have started blacking out my numbers on receipts with a sharpie before giving the customer the receipt

ya i mentioned that to a supervisor and was told that it’s too time consuming to be a viable option.
i really wish starbucks would change it so it only shows the last 4 numbers or smthing like that

It’s literally not time consuming at all. It takes 2 seconds. I would just do it despite what your supervisor says. I’m a supervisor and I tell everybody to do it before handing the customer the receipt.

it’s a tik tok trend, so it’s not a starbucks implementation. your numbers are on the top left of the receipt. i recommend blacking then out with a sharpie and not giving people your name
