Nice gift to give to the staff at my favorite location? (self.starbucksbaristas)

My neighborhood Starbucks is the BEST! Every barista is so so sweet and going to the drive through is one of my favorite rituals to do a few times per week.

I’d like to put together a gift of some sort for them to share. Any ideas? Do I just give them cash? I don’t know if they would want to touch a gift basket of sorts.

A big tip would be an easy way to show appreciation, but something like a gift basket with a little note would be really heartwarming! :)

Try to steer away from handmade things. They are coming from a good place but I was always taught (not from Starbucks) to not accept handmade stuff from people you dont know bc you never know if they have clean water, clean dishes, no bugs or anything. Plus just in case anyone has allergies or something.

A big cash tip would be nice, handwritten notes for everyone, prepackaged snacks or food, sharpies like someone else said and maybe regular pens my store can NEVER find our normal pens, this might sound weird but scissors. Our store goes through scissors so fast. We use them for a lot of stuff and really frustrating when we have to walk across the whole store to get them bc we only have one pair. If you know their names, personalized things like name tags, cups, stuff like that are nice :) i love getting stuff made like that for me.

They will appreciate anything you give the, I promise. We don't get much recognition for what we do and any small amount means a lot

Presents are nice and all, but a lot of us are poor. I dont want you to feel bad, but some of them might really be financially struggling. Theres kids without a worry working with grown people who have a lot of bills, overworked, and also trying to keep up with school.

Money. Money. Money. Just a huge tip.

Nope, doesn’t offend me at all! Thank you! I’m going to do something including cash.

I was also going to say money! So many baristas work two jobs to make ends meet and money is the biggest stressor. I wish all customers were like you!

Something that they can appreciate on their break like snacks or doughnuts

a gift basket could be nice! maybe include a pack of sharpies as the other person mentioned! theyre very useful and we're always running out 😂 chalk markers are also useful for our signs 🌈

another idea is candy or sweets. individually packaged treats might be a good idea during this time 🌟

other ideas for small items include string bracelets, keychains, books, decks of cards, sticker sheets, notepads, tote bags, socks, and so on

if you know specific interests you could get a seperate gift for each barista, but this is a little more involved... for example, find out their favorite movie and get them the dvd, or their favorite novel or perhaps genre if they already own a lot of books so you can find them smthn new they havent read yet. or perhaps if they like a certain show get them keychains/stickers/posters for that fandom. not sure if you wanna go into that much detail tho haha

anyway a hand written note is always a great addition to any gift! and regardless of what you give them, just the fact that you thought of them will be appreciated! 🌼

Thank you for thinking this way at all 💎

One of our old partners gave us a big bag of sharpies which was a really cute and useful gift. People also give us like bags of candy or boxes of cookies/cupcakes on occasion. There’s some homemade cookies somebody made in the back of my store right now but idk if it was a partner or customer who made them. And, as always, a nice tip works too.
