i have to relocate unexpectedly and just started 7 wks ago. due to covid my mom has to relocate and my living situation has changed and need to move to my dads 3 hours away. during the week i have to watch my younger sister. I can come back fri/sat/sun to a friends and work until I can transfer. when i started i said i could work all 7 days but this was unexpected. before i ask, do managers try to help with this or will I have to quit. but if i quit can i get rehired in my new town. i really like working here and am already doing real good. i had tried for over a year to get hired and finally was. so upset rn.

ask about a transfer! explain the situation, say you want to stay and didn’t plan for this at all. there’s definitely a starbucks near your new location that needs another bean

it might be different where you live but in my area we’ve suspended the transfer time limit to allow baristas to go wherever they’re needed. it may be the same for you. worst case scenario is that they say no and you leave on good terms, so you can apply to a store in your new area and get a good recommendation from your manager. good luck!
