Transferring questions (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by britzandpieces
If you work with me mind your business haha

Thinking of transferring, but have questions.

If I transfer, would I keep the same pay? What about in a different city? I’m trying to decide between staying put, moving to a nearby city, and moving to a completely state, but I’m having a hard time and this is my only income so I’d like to be able to plan (despite my obvious lack in planning haha)

Cost of living impacts your rate of pay. Your pay could be more or less at a different location depending on cost living relative to where you are now.

Pay goes off the base pay for the area. Say in one area start barista pay is 9, and In another area it is 15. You would get the area base pay plus whatever percent raise you have earned from your original location. You do not just carry over base pay, you carry over the equivalent pay for the location.

I believe there is an expectation to work at least 6 mos prior to transferring. That being said, if you are a partner in good standing, the store you want to go to has a need and the store you are leaving has the staffing to let you go, you *may* have a transfer approved in theory.

I transferred after 2 months. You just need approval from both SMs!
