Seeking help on filing formal complaints to HR (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by throitawaynow8675309
I've only ever worked for small, locally owned businesses throughout my entire employment history up until sbux so this is super new territory for me. Can anyone kinda walk me through the steps of filing a formal complaint (or two) as well as what they're experience was like doing so?

I'm looking to file two seperate complaints. One is against another partner and the other is against my store manager (the complaint against SM does regard my complaint againt the partner but I actually have more issues with my SM than just that which I am filing for against then) and I have sort of rough evidence to back up both claims though I'm not sure how to include it because for the case against a partner the evidence is text messages, and the evidence of which that is against my SM is videos i took of some phone convos (all within the same day) between the two of us which i took because she was very cruely yelling at me, threatening me and all around brutally harassing me, so i started recording the convos (in order to get audio proof) on my husband's phone's camera while i was being berated on *my* phone so I gave no idea how i can add this into my complaint which is frustrating cause when it's someone in power's word against yours the odds aren't great, but the proof is a-fuckin-PLENTY.

I called the helpline today to get the ball rolling and turns out that my district GR rep can only be contacted via email. So do i just email him saying i want to file and then things get going from there?

Again, im really looking for like a step-by-step break down of how any of you have done this, as well as what the experience as a whole was like for you and what i should expect.

Thanks so much in advance for any and all help

I’m sorry I don’t have any experience filing complaints myself- but be sure to check your state laws regarding recording phone conversations. There’s a few states that require consent from all party’s involved in the phone call in order for the recording to be lawful

So sorry you’re going through this! I wish you the best of luck

Reach through any channels you know. Partner help lines in your hiring booklet are crucial here, but if the only thing you have is an email to contact the next higher up I would reach out stating that you have several serious concerns that things are not being handled to standard within your immediate team of reach.
I'm sorry you're going through this and your SM is so unprofessional for handling anything like that. You deserve to be taken seriously and treated like a coworker, not a peon

I didn't even think about that so that's great advice. Thank you

Is your DM a problem as well or can you share this with them? They may be able to help

Yeeahh, she's not exactly a "problem" per se, but I contacted her the same day that my sm was harassing me and she had my sm's back completely, which at first kind of shocked me because she's always getting on my sm's case about something or other, but then i put two and two together and realized that the dm had called my sm after i had left a voicemail to her cryinf and asking her to please contact me. So i don't have any faith in her taking these claims seriously.

And she's actually been made aware of the situation with the partner, which is honestly a *really, really* bad situation and these allegations (which aren't even that, they are indeed facts) are not at all the kind business would ever want associated with them. And despite hearing the ~~allegations~~ facts from multiple partners, neither her or my sm have done anything about it which absolutely astounds me...

So actaully, i guess yeah, the dm is kind of a problem too.

Oh, and I'm also not the only partner who's reporting either. Though i am the only one who has any legit evidence to prove it.
