So I need help and I have no idea what to do. (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I am moving out of my state because of the pandemic and I need to transfer stores. I find the closest store and call them to talk to the manager. Let’s name him bob 1. Now bob 1 is great and tells me that he can get me the hours I need and that I can transfer as soon as I move. Good. Great. I get the move ready. This was a month ago.

I give my manager bob 1’s information and she sends him a message but never heard back. A week passed and it was odd so I called them again and turns out they are closed. For a week. And when I call back there is a new manager, bob 2.0, because bob 1 has left the company for whatever reason.

I explain my situation to bob 2.0, but he tells me he’s not hiring (that’s the word he used, not transferring) for at least three or four weeks. He was nice about it, but like what???

I move in 4 days. I was told by the previous manager that I would be fine and that he would take me, and so I made my plans accordingly. And now I’m cucked.

Is there ANYTHING I can do about this?

Get the DMs info of the new district you are transferring to and talk to them and explain what happened

It's also a good idea to fill out an actual transfer request form to make things official. Basing your transfer on informal talks with SMs could create problems, as you've discovered.

We tried to but couldn’t get a response from bob1. I’m going to talk to my DM about it, I just don’t want to go behind the manager’s back or something. I don’t want to start with a rocky relationship, I just need to work: especially now.
