So I went from a super busy store to a chill cafe. Then we moved to a drive thru store.
At my busy store, we all hated this guy. He was there all the time, because we had a lot of volume. He came on the floor one day midrush, starts bitching at me because my espresso hopper is half full. We have 20+ people standing in the lobby waiting for their drink. I say to him
"Im pretty busy right now, we have a lot of customers waiting right now, I dont care."
Maybe a bit unprofessional, rude, or whatever. It kinda just came out. I was a bit stressed out. But the guy gets so upset and starts storming around the floor complaining about me.
So a few years later I return to the company, but at a chill cafe. Barely any volume. I see him. But hes chill with us, because hes hardly ever here. Because we arent high volume.
But we moved to a drive thru store. I come into a rush. Hes working on an espresso machine. He had to pull out a fridge, which really affected our efficiency. Because it blocks off access to one of our bars. I hear him say that the machine is working again, but hes sitting there just shooting the shit and laughing with whoever hes talking to. While our customers are asking us where their drinks are. Some said they've been waiting 20+ minutes. Some more. Meanwhile, dudes sitting there laughing about something, with an entire fridge is still blocking us off from a whole bar. When I see him finally start to move 20-30 minutes later after I heard him tell the guy on the phone the machine is working again, I just see him push the fridge back in. Then turn the machine on. He had nothing else to do.
Keep in mind we had these customers waiting on their drink, asking where they're at. We're barely even touching their orders, because we have a stacked drive thru line. They can see us making order after order, and it just got more and more uncomfortable.
I feel like Im about to hate this guy all over again.
