This rant is a long one so buckle up. Today was not a good day. To begin we had a 5 man peak with a green bean however that wasn’t even the worst part. The customers that graced our presence today were by far the rudest, most entitled, and condescending people I think I have encountered. In our state it is government mandated to wear masks in public (along with company policy but we knew that). We have a sign clearly on the door highlighted bright green to just make it more obvious for the general public.
The first guy didn’t have a mask but at least attempted to put his shirt over his face. There was no wait and no customers in the store so I was going to let him order and bring it out to him. As I was taking his order I told him that next time he came in he would have to wear a mask because the shirt doesn’t count. You would think I called him the worst name under the sun. He proceeds to storm towards the door screaming at me that I am rude and that he was drinking the previous night and he didn’t have a mask. Mind you I wasn’t refusing service, I was simply just telling him for future reference he had to wear a mask. He started swearing at me and my manager and saying that he owned businesses all over town and stormed out. Not even 10 minutes later he walked back in, with a mask, to pick up a mobile order. No apology or anything just grabbed his shit and left. I was so shocked by the BALLS on this dude I was just in shock.
Then the afternoon happened. Our restrooms were not open just yet due to us properly cleaning them and the sheer fact of running short today. We were in the process of getting someone in there to make it customer ready. We had a couple walk in and we greeted them and asked them what we could do to help them. The husband soon just walked out when he saw the closed sign, however the wife just stood there. She didn’t say anything so my manager approached the register and asked if she could help her out. The lady proceeded to question why our establishment didn’t have the restrooms open and how it’s against the law to be open and not have any restrooms. My manager told her she wasn’t going to argue with her but that there were restroom available across the street or even a few stores over. This woman proceeded to tear off one of the signs posted on our door. I’m like ?? Ma’am what in the hell? What are you accomplishing with doing that.
Sorry for the long post it was a shit bag day full of shit bag people. I will never understand how people can treat others like this especially during this god damn pandemic.
