I love my job. My job doesn’t love me back. (reddit.com)

The thing is is that I love the people I work with. Like I won the partner lottery. But just about everything else about the job I dislike.

Agree with everything except for shit partners, most partners in my experience are the best part of Starbucks

I completely agree! You can tell I was in a worse-off state when I made the meme.

The partners are why I stay with the company. The management is why I’m leaving.

Partners are what make Starbucks run, but the company would rather put profits over proper working conditions, and this burns out good workers . Starbucks wants to get blood out of a stone and when it comes to management Coffee house experience is not required for the receive the position causing them to be uneducated about what drives a coffee shop to success.

The store I ended up at would essentially work you like a dog, doubles multiple times a week with little/no notice, didn't always get your breaks, and would fire you once they decided you outlived your usage or when they got bored of you.I literally got told off on the floor once for pouring coconut milk in a shaker before guava, and 🙃

My Store Manager is literally threatening de-certifying us and issuing us CAs if we don’t follow the beverage routine completely.

My store is screwed.

Oooh lord. I wouldn't be shocked if that ends up happening at my old store. I was one of the main closers (and not to toot my own horn but also the most efficient) and my SM ended up having to move from mornings to nights cause of it. Now my good friend, who was one of their best openers, just quit because he got hired at a Tarbucks and I'm waiting for that store to fall apart.

I worked at Starbucks a few years back and it was the lowest wage I'd ever made $9.60/hour. I was also living out of my car at the time so their whole pitch on benefits and being progressive and a good company really rubbed me the wrong way.

I liked having a job that fed me and some of the small perks were nice, but it wasn't a job that could save me from my circumstances.

I now work in a small Starbucks cafe inside a hospital and I make $14/hour with full benefits. I make amazing tips that are distrabuted by shift not hours. I still get free drinks and free food from the hospital.

I also worked at Target Starbucks and they paid $11 when I started and are now at $15/hour. Less perks at Target but sometimes a higher wage is better than free coffee and beans.

I think Starbucks is a company that markets themselves as a socially-progressive company and they easily get away with it for god knows what reason.

I live in Austin Texas now and they start their baristas out around $9.50 or so. I worked for them back in 2015 so it's been 5 years and they are still paying their employees and embarrassingly low wage.

I also had to quit on short notice to move back home because of my circusmtances and I was written down as "do not rehire" which is another reason I have such negative feelings towards the company.

i just quit 😌 but i’m not forgetting my amazing partners. they’re really the ones who gave the experience any value. i’ll miss them the most but i’m done being undervalued by corporate and corporate bootlickers

Lol I love part of my crew. Most customers..but some regular customers feel like there a priority.
always_hungryy 2 points 2y ago
My favorite is when you have a regular customer you love come in and you are happy to see them and talk to them. And then the next customer is upset that they are treated normally (still with a smile and a how is your day) and act like they are being discriminated against for not being treated over the top like the last person. But maybe the people in my area are just on the next level of privilege.

Haha been there same thing happens to me. Even had a customer rudely pay and walk away too complain to management.🥺
