Hot take:

I see lots of deprication towards starbucks work environments here, but after working at 5 stores over the past 3 years, i cant say i see eye to eye with most of the people on this sub.

Ive worked at mcdonalds, call centers, tim hortons, stadiums, and nothing compares to how good we have it at Starbucks.

Also dont forget that its still a company wth financial targets, comparatively however, we are treated more like humans than almost any other fast food chain.

I agree. But I also recognize that I have an exceptionally good store made up of incredible partners and leadership (including our DM) in an area where customers are almost always kind and rudeness is a rare exception. If that weren’t the case, I’m sure I might feel differently.

Starbucks is definitely been the most positive company I’ve worked for. I don’t know if my SM and SSV’s are just doing a really good job at keeping morale up, but whatever they’re doing I really appreciate it

especially considering starbucks is a big corporation we are offered a lot of benefits that even bigger corporations dont offer employees

Thank you for saying this!

Starbucks isn’t perfect by any means, but they’ve been an incredible place to work for. They transferred me from one coast to the other after 6 weeks, after 3 months they gave me 6 weeks full pay maternity leave, they gave me full pay for 3 months while my store was shut down, promoted me and have given me every opportunity to learn and grow and be part of a team. I use to work in banking making twice as much and I’d much rather work at Starbucks than go back to that. It’s the first job I’ve truly enjoyed doing!

Wow??? That's so amazing I'm actually shocked 😭😭 I'm so happy for you!!! We're both super lucky that we got amazing partners!! They really do make the job worth it

I’m not going to lick Starbucks’ boots because they’re a slightly less abusive corporation.
Starbucks is profitable that they can afford to give their employees a living wage. They can afford slower wait times while we’re attempting to navigate COVID protocols.
They choose not to.

Completely agree. I’m 1901*** partner and I’ve worked many jobs. Until recently Starbucks wasn’t my main source of income. Now it is and I make enough to pay all of my bills. I do work 40 hours a week though. Starbucks has been an absolute jam. Is it perfect? No. Do I have bad days? Yes. But overall they treat us very well in comparison to other jobs I’ve had.

I agree with this. I admit I’m in a different position than some of my partners because I don’t rely on this job as my sole source of income. However I’ve never been treated better or felt more valued than at this job.

Some have said certain things could have been handled better Covid wise but this has been new territory for everyone and I felt really supported.

Honestly it's far from perfect but I've worked at a lit of other places and so far I get the best hours and benefits here. Look at spotify and asu. Most places dont offer anything like that. Like I said, it's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than higher places

Same! Everyone talks about how terrible everything is but really, I’m much more supported at this company than I would be at so many other fast food style companies! So thankful for the last 6 years with this company💚
