Kenny looks at me EYES WIDE and says WELL ITS SUPPOSED TO BE A CARAMEL MACCIATO

He then pulls his phone out and shows me HIS HISTORY ! A CHICKEN DOUBLE SMOKED PANINI

HE SAID HOW DID YOU DO THAT.... I WALKED AWAY
King_Xile [OP] 17 points 2y ago
Lmaoooo 😂 the nerve of some people
[deleted] 57 points 2y ago
This has actually never happened to me and I’ve been a partner for years lol

That being said, I don’t know how I would react lol
nobullshitplz 26 points 2y ago
By swirling the cup
Lostinhuntsville 25 points 2y ago
The ole Seattle Swirl
SkylerSayys 45 points 2y ago
Closest I've had happen to this is a girl ordered 2 shots iced. She then asked where the milk was.
Unipanther368 13 points 2y ago
Wtffff lol
SkylerSayys 12 points 2y ago
Yeah she wanted a grande iced machismo (okay so auto correct will not let me type the drink out.... but... im sure with all the mispronounciations of it, you can figure out what im struggling to type. Today was a rough shift and I'm going to refuse to further argue with aiti correct though)
sunflowers_and_succs 6 points 2y ago
I didn’t even realize you spelt it wrong until you pointed it out in the parentheses. Guess that’s the awful pronunciations I’m used too
Kaywin 3 points 2y ago
I'm at a loss. Were you going for 'macchiato'?
SkylerSayys 1 points 2y ago
Yes. Auto correct would NOT let me though.
handlelamp 5 points 2y ago
I have had so many people come in, ask for a "double shot with milk" and throw a screaming tantrum because I gave it to them instead of whatever they really meant (latte, macchiato, whatever else they dont even understand they are drinking)
alycrawford42- 4 points 2y ago
My petty ass has charged someone who mobile ordered an iced doppio with milk to fill it to the top. Mostly because he was rude. If they’re nice, sometimes I’ll just fill it up and let them know to order a latte next time.
lunafreyaknox 1 points 2y ago
I’ve started ordering a doppio with half and half lately since I’m pregnant and two shots is my max...today they put heavy cream all the way to the top and I have to wonder now if this was my barista being passive aggressive, thinking I’m some kind of idiot
SkylerSayys 3 points 2y ago
She didn't even ask for milk!!! She asked for a double. Then asked for ice.
harmlessZZ 20 points 2y ago
No they never ask. They immediately start screaming and asking for straws.
lizthebeth 10 points 2y ago
@everyone who orders their ~~macchiatos~~ lattes stirred
Michigoose99 1 points 2y ago
I think it shouldn't even be an option
bloodyspit 9 points 2y ago
our customers keep getting dumber i swear, especially lately
Nigee_Ogee 9 points 2y ago
Different drink, but I had a customer get a iced coffee with cream and he asked why it was black at the bottom and white at the top... like did you even learn chemistry??? 😬
hailiesandersl 11 points 2y ago
See, I was taught that Starbucks standard is cream before ice so it shouldn’t be separated, so whenever I see an iced coffee like that I cringe.. but apparently it’s more popular to do than I thought
hailvy 7 points 2y ago
I was told by shifts and management that cream goes on top, but I have no idea which way is technically correct
sizzlethizzle 3 points 2y ago
It’s prettier, and it’s also not hard to give it a couple shakes if the customer wants to
hailiesandersl 4 points 2y ago
I do it so that the proportions are correct :)
sizzlethizzle 2 points 2y ago
After working there for a while, I can pretty much get the amount right
Nigee_Ogee 1 points 2y ago
Yeah I wasn’t taught that. And sometimes there’s no time to be exactly by the book at my store anyway 😪.
aprilraindropss 8 points 2y ago
one woman gave her iced coffee back to me and told me to mix it right. i just turned around shook the drink aggressively in front of her
Nigee_Ogee 2 points 2y ago
🤣🤣
drinkliquidclocks 3 points 2y ago
Do we not use the top line on the cup cream/milk...? I'm so confused. I never give a customer their drink without stirring it unless it's a macchiato or something... I think most people would want their iced coffee mixed, no?
Nigee_Ogee 1 points 2y ago
Well they can mix it if they want. I don’t see it being such a problem. At my store sometimes we don’t have time for minuscule things like that because it’s always so busy.
drinkliquidclocks 1 points 2y ago
I don't consider it miniscule to make someone's drink right. It takes one extra second. Not a big deal I guess but I hate when someone doesn't stir my drink, and it doesn't always mix well when you just swirl the cup 🤧
Nigee_Ogee 0 points 2y ago
Just like it takes an extra second for them to mix it on their own. Like I said at my store we weren’t taught that we had to stir their iced coffees, idk what else more to say to that.
RueCamp2 8 points 2y ago
I love customers who tell me I made them the wrong drink, but the drink I called out isn't even theirs. Like, is your name Chris? No, so it's obviously not yours. Calm down!
Lol I'm not mad... 😅
Beap92 2 points 2y ago
This happens SO OFTEN at my store.
White lady comes up to me complaining that she ordered a latte, not an iced tea, and I look at the drink, and it say the drink is for Ahmed or something, and ask her if that’s her name, and they always get pissy over being expected to read the name on the cup/look at what’s in the clear cup instead of just grabbing
RueCamp2 1 points 2y ago
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
She not aware? That's why we ask for names!!!!
Beap92 2 points 2y ago
I just can’t get past the thought process of ordering a latte, seeing a cup with a dark pink liquid, taking it like it’s yours, and only realizing AFTER TAKING A SIP that it’s the wrong drink
colorsbot 2 points 2y ago
I've detected the name of a color in your comment. Please allow me to provide a visual representation. Dark pink ($1)

Yesterday someone complained to me that their vanilla cream cold brews NEVER come mixed right. I took a rather silly amount of pleasure in telling them that’s how they’re supposed to come.
vicsnapshot1 8 points 2y ago
I wouldn’t say they ask for this very often, but they would look at a drink and the sticker after I call out their name and then ask where their drink is because this isn’t their drink??? Like????
poetixvirgo 7 points 2y ago
Had a customer watch me while I was cafe bar and asked why her venti iced caramel macchiato had so much milk and a small amount of shots on top...
[deleted] 7 points 2y ago
Macchiatos no ice.
Kaywin 4 points 2y ago
That's a new one. Oh boy. Now that I've seen it on Reddit I'm gonna go in tomorrow and someone's gonna order it, I'm sure.
King_Xile [OP] 2 points 2y ago
At that point it’s not a macchiato lol
[deleted] 5 points 2y ago
My sentiments exactly lol. Customers don't always understand what keeps the shots separated.
astivana 2 points 2y ago
Someone asked for that because they were going to consume it later and didn’t want the ice melting like,,,, sure fam. Your shots and drizzle immediately sank to the bottom of the cup tho
Dunber1234 7 points 2y ago
Had this happen with a mocha cookie crumble earlier today.. she’s like THERE AINT COOKIES IN THE MIXXXXXX
CrystalizedCage 6 points 2y ago
I had a gentleman pick up an orange juice this weekend. Ask my barista is we had any juice that wasn’t separated. She said you just gotta shake it- it’s super fresh so it’s natural for the- I ASKED YOU IF THERES ANY JUICE THAT ISNT SEPARATED. He cuts her off from trying to make it right for him.

she’s like nope!

Then he didn’t buy any juice
