Starbucks is only a part time gig for me, as my main job just gave me a raise so I’ll be earning almost $7 an hour than at Starbucks. I was going to do ASU but my other job has comparable tuition reimbursement so I can just go with that. I was gonna keep Starbucks but the block scheduling conflicts with my availability and my SM is refusing to allow me to go early because “we can’t mix blocks together” whatever that means. Everything is going to work out as I will be starting a part time job at Taco Bell earning $2 more than Starbucks, so goodbye siren. I will miss all of my fun coworkers but this company has been nothing short of a mess disguised as a paradise.

Hi fellow 286! I feel the same way, COVID and my store has me the most unmotivated and jaded I've ever been. I'm doing ASU now but maybe I'll find something better. Best of luck for your new job!!!

Hi there! I just want to say, stick with Starbucks to finish ASU! Its the best program ever. I am going to do nursing, and of course they can’t teach that online. My main job is in an assisted living home working in the kitchen, and this company offers something comparable to Starbucks but only for healthcare degrees. So stick with it for ASU, even if you work the bare minimum of hours to qualify and have another PT job elsewhere.

I’ve been feeling the same way lately. Too much work and too many restrictions for too little pay.

It has gotten so bad lately. We have tons of partners who worked 38 hours a week pre covid now barely cutting 30. Corporate decided morning peak is only worthy of a five person team which was dragging me down but oh well. The final nail in the coffin was that we had a partner who was engaging in reckless behavior outside of work catch covid but lie about it but finally her father called my SM to tell the truth, and they didn’t even shut us down or deep clean because nobody had a high fever on that temperature gun thing!! I called corporate and got the run around. Thankfully my other job requires us to test every Monday and I still am testing negative and showing no symptoms, but that’s god awful management!

>they didn’t even shut us down or deep clean because nobody had a high fever on that temperature gun thing!!

Holy moly! That's so evil! I can't believe that your SM just let all of you keep working there under those conditions, even after your co-worker's dad confirmed she had the very same life-threatening COVID we've been trying to AVOID all this time.

I may stick it out longer, although the abysmally low pay I receive where I moved to is no fun either. I'm risking my life every day just to earn $2/hr above the national minimum wage. :/
