Starting Salary Question (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi everyone! I was recently rehired at the same Starbucks I worked at when I was younger (partner number starts with 182) and I had a question about my starting salary. I’m in a NY store that’s about two hours north of the city and my starting salary is 13.77/hour. Is that normal/high/low? I’ve been looking around but haven’t really found any answers. TIA!

I’m in NYC and it’s $15.68 for me...I didn’t think it would be such a big diff if were in the same state.

I think minimum wages are different for the city and other places in the state to account for the cost of living. I’m in the capital region and my pay as a barista is also $13.77/hr

I’m honestly surprised you don’t make more in the city. Cost of Living is definitely cheaper up here

Your cost of living is probably less than mine so don’t be jealous. It’s very hard to live on that salary in NYC especially without a set schedule.

In Rochester that is the barista pay as well right now.
