I need advice (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by fbt1228
Hey partners! So, I am going to be a freshman in a university in the south and transferred to the sbux up here. I told the manager that I wanted to start the week of the first but I’m having second thoughts. I really only transferred for the Spotify premium and idk if waking up at 6:30am is worth the premium anymore. I got a chill job at the library for the same pay and an easier pace, so Idk if working 2 jobs is too excessive even if SBUX is my weekend gig. So what advice do you guys have for me? I’m supposed to meet with the SM today to just chat and stuff, so should I try it out first and then let the SM know that I can’t do it? Or not show up (which is shitty Ik).

Also, I’m an engineering major so Idk hoe having 2 jobs might affect my studies...

Spotify is 5$ as a student and it comes with Hulu...

Starbucks has a family plan. Five people can get on it and it’s less than $5 each

Starbucks for Spotify premium isn’t worth it. I barely think starbucks for free college is worth it

Spotify is like what $10 a month? As much as I love the bux, I'd personally want to make sure I'd have some time for myself and more time for studies if needed.
But if you wanna handle working two jobs and studies on top, more power to ya!! Take the chill library job and just go with the flow. The siren will always be there if you wanna go back!

So what would I say to the SM to let her know how I’m feeling?

Just be honest. Perhaps something along the lines of after thinking everything over, at this time I'm not able to devote my time to starbucks ty for the opportunity or thank you more your time, thank you for the consideration (not sure what your situation is) Add that you'd like to be considered for rehire in the near future.
