You got it backwards. It’s no happy hours in September.

Ohh I felt so bad :( I came back during happy hour to grab my tips that I had forgotten the past two days & when I walked in they looked relieved & then quickly disappointed when I told them why I was there. I felt so bad leaving them because it was only 3 of them there working happy hour, well 4 but the other partner is much older & cant move as quickly as the younger partners & they also had another partner pull a no call no show. Starbucks needs to get their priorities in line, is it that you care about your partners & their safety or do they (as they clearly do with this BS) only care about their bottom line when their stores aren’t fully staffed due to block scheduling & also partners not being smart and going out where cases of covid have popped & then those stores having to shut down which in turn puts stress on other stores who are open & unprepared for the mass amount of customers coming their way due to these other stores decisions.

*money*

The company lost too much money giving out paid leave left and right. Too many took advantage of it, company went into the red. So here comes happy hours, lay offs, and unpaid leave of absence. :/

How can you take advantage of something that's offered to you? They basically said if you're comfortable working then work with a paid bonus and if not then take a paid leave until you're comfortable coming back.

I’m not sure why I’m getting downvoted. I’m not blaming partners. I’m not. Hell I took the leave as *I* didn’t feel safe either. I’m saying Starbucks handled this whole thing wrong. I understand they were trying to help us, that much I appreciate. What I’m saying is they didn’t plan accordingly and now in the long run it’s hurting us more than ever. Stores are being shutdown, partners laid off or asked to take a leave of absence, and all the while business isn’t slowing down, but we’re losing partners and labor left and right. It kinda sucks and a lot of stores and partners are feeling the hurt.

Edit: I feel the phrase “took advantage” was misconstrued. I did not mean in the sense of abusing the paid leave, I’m saying a lot of partners used the leave, and understandably so. Most of us, myself included, did not feel safe working as business barely slowed down.

I didn’t mind if partners took it right when it was offered they obviously had a reason to do so whatever it may be. What honestly bothered me is when partners were working then decided like 2 weeks into this they couldn’t deal with how busy it was & up and leave because it was to “stressful” 🤷🏻‍♀️ like what the hell we are all stressed out & don’t want to be here but we’re making do and getting through this.
