i know the tik tok trend is going around where people are taking our partner numbers from receipts and using them to try to get free stuff, and i have absolutely zero problem showing my ID when i use my numbers at another store,, but why are people being so rude in the window?? i went to another store today and asked to use them and the woman at the window acted like i was blatantly trying to steal from her store.
i understand that it’s frustrating that people are trying to take advantage of our partner perks, but i don’t think it’s that hard to be polite when asking for ID. we’re all on the same team, after all. i personally would rather be polite to someone trying to scam me than be rude to a partner who’s just trying to get lunch.
when people come through and ask to use partner numbers, please remember that most of us are actually partners trying to use the perks that we EARN working for the siren.

I’d also add to this, I’m a trans partner. My number does not match my ID. I always say what my name should be when it comes up, and I make sure to mention some aspect of being a barista, so that the barista on reg knows I work there, but I really do think it’s important to remember that some of us don’t have IDs that match our names. And to be honest, I really don’t want to out myself as trans every time I go in for a cup of coffee.

i 100% agree with you. you absolutely should not have to share your life story with a stranger just to utilize a benefit that you have earned. i hope that starbucks will change this whole receipt thing soon. maybe use our first names, or just the last 4 digits of our numbers on the receipts? i’m all for being held accountable, but there has to be a better way to do this.

Completely agreed! I’m definitely okay w being held accountable, but demanding to see partners’ IDs does not seem to be a good way to go about it. There has to be a better way than this.

I'm having a similar problem. I changed my name when I was 12 and am in the process of legally changing it, due to personal reasons that are too complex to get into in a small reddit comment. Every time I would go to a store they'd call me by legal name despite me correcting them, say it doesn't match the name in the system, and refuse to give me my discount despite me being able to pull up my schedule. What I've done know to hopefully get around doing this is I've been able to link my Partner Card to my app, and allegedly the partner card (whether plastic or on the app) is supposed to be sufficient for an ID. If you need help doing this let me know and I can walk you through it! It's saved me a lot of hassle

I can't get my card on the app to work so i still have to use the id route

Do you need help setting it up? It's a different process for the mobile order discount and the partner card scannable card

I have to out myself to essentially everyone working when i go to another store bc of this. I just stopped going to other stores all together. It would be one thing if it was just the barista on register but they always call over a different barista then the shift then if they are there and at the point everyone else wants to know what's going on and comes over.
