im not even kidding it should be a hazard pay or some shit the amount of absolute chaos that goes on in the stores during that is mentally damaging and i refuse to put up with that for $13 an hour

We all need to get in the mindset of staying happy and only moving at a HUMANS pace. NOT a Starbucks robot pace. I for one, spill more and mess up more drinks, when Im trying to hurry like a bat out of hell. Let the assholes wait.... they cant have my sanity on top of my dignity.

I’m a shift, after taxes I make 11.50 an hour. Happy Hour was canceled for the month of September, which I’m happy about because I already question how much my job is worth.

THIS. All social distancing protocols flew out the window for Happy Hour, both in our lobby and behind the bar as all of us were scrambling to finish drinks at such a close proximity. It was so bad.

I was making 13 an hour at Target, then I switched to a regular store last Recember and I think I'm making 10 an hour since I had experience.

If you can’t handle it then quit, Starbucks is a very high paced work environment and yes, sometimes it’s very stressful. But that’s why we get compensated the way that we do.

You have free Spotify, you get all the free drinks you want, a bunch of free food, 30-50% off of merch, a pound of free coffee every week, you have access to free mental health services, and also, you can literally get a bachelors degree FOR FREE. Like where else can you get all of this stuff?

At any living wage paying job with my own money.
Spotify is $9. Free drinks don't matter, they're high calorie and water is better. You're allowed one free food a day, all high calorie, all tastes about the same rapidly. The coffee is okay, but over valued. The free mental health services cap at 20 sessions, most cbt courses are 12 to begin with, no repeats or tangents.
As a SCAP student, it's not free. I pay over a grand in class fees every semester, plus putting up money up front, with often very delayed refunds. Another grand in books is not unusual. it's only online which is very hard for some students as well as vital networking. You get a degree, not all the other trappings that help you get a job.
If I got paid a living wage, I wouldn't need my company to give me scraps. I could pay my own music subscription to a service I prefer from my own money. I could afford to go to a local college and see a therapist I knew for years, not have to change periodically as we change our program or therapists leave the program.
Starbucks is pretty okay, and if you're starving scraps are pretty okay, but a dignified company pays a living wage without pretending the scraps make up for it.

Yeah none of those things pay my rent. The only serious benefit here to our wallets is the 20 free therapy sessions and free college... best believe most of us need far more than 20 sessions. And you could get both of those things in a country that actually gives a fuck about the people.

If you want a wage that will pay for rent then don’t work a dollar above minimum wage job. Minimum wage jobs were never intended to pay rent. Go use that free college program, get a degree, and then get a job that pays you well.
