Regardless of why she’s calling in, having a friend text the manager doesn’t count as calling in. She needs to physically call the store. Some SMs may allow texting them; mine didn’t and required us to call. Either way, it needs to be the partner doing it. Discipline may depend on the partner and on the SM. If this partner is usually reliable and doesn’t call out often, they may let this one night slide. If the partner pulls this kind of stuff all the time, it may become a conversation and/or a write-up.
