Guys. I’m not fighting this fight anymore!! As far as I’m concerned customers can touch whatever the fuck they want.
We move straws stoppers trays out of reach and put signs in front. People still reach and grab and touch it all! Tell my SM it’s a problem and the stuff needs to be moved but she says “no it’s not a problem I’ve never seen it”
Fuck it. Touch whatever you want. Lick your fingers and touch all the stoppers. IDGAF

I had a customer yesterday reach over the plexiglass set up to grab a straw and I smacked her hand with one of the metal spoons. (I didn’t hit her hard, it was more of a tap) She looked so surprised and I told her there was a pandemic happening and she can’t just touch things, I would give her a straw with her drink. She didn’t say anything and waited for her drink and left. Now I in no way condone this, but it’s my last week and I was done caring. Starbucks hasn’t done anything to help us since we reopened and it’s not fair to our partners.

Had a Karen reach over the glass to grab a straw. So I dumped the rest of the container in the trash and loudly declared to the rest of the store that we’re out of straws because the ones we had left were potentially contaminated. She was frozen there for like a solid minute it was actually really funny to see

We had a partner do this exact same thing but the customer started yelling at her and told our manager lol

Me too and it’s not that I don’t care about safety but we have zero support and it’s impossible to enforce

Yup. I make 9 bucks an hour and have neither gun nor badge. I'm not fighting with anyone about anything. Fuck all of them

I work in a licensed store at my campus bookstore and I get so fuckin pissed when people ignore the damn signs and sit in the seating area. Like we’re in the middle of a rush and I don’t have time to “politely” ask them to move outside. Also our general manager won’t let us stack the chairs on top of the tables and I’m pretty sure he would shoot down roping it off too

Then if you do nothing you'll get other customers complaining that you're letting people reach behind the counter. There's no winning.

I’m not sure how your store is set up but everything is hidden and inaccessible to customers so they have to ask for it. Ask your shifts if you can move them out of reach
