does it not maybe make more sense to ask a barista to do it? and only go yourself if it’s necessary?

Sometimes. Depends on who I’m working with. If I’m working with strong people I just go do it myself. There could be a lot of reasons. I’ve been with the company for long enough that I know a lot of employees at other stores and can ask for an extra thing here or there no problem.
Maybe your shift has things going on at home and is stressed out and could really use a task that allows them to have some quiet from the chaos, idk. Why does this bother you so much?

I’m not bothered, just asking questions/being curious. I’m still trying to get a feel for my new store and how they do things
