Hello fellow partners,
In solidarity with Victoria BC, there are many stores across Canada which want to unionize so that partners have a greater power to bargain with corporate. They can’t shut everybody down. Union laws are not terrible in Canada, but I still wanted to reach through the grapevine to all partners on what is the course to move forward in. Are we joining a larger union like UFCW or will we create our Starbucks Union. We need to start figuring this out quickly so we can get organized fast enough to take advantage of the current situation.
Let’s fix the Starbucks experience. Together.

Not an expert but I'd consider having Western Canada join USW and Eastern Canada join UFCW. I don't think USW is dominant out East.

I called USW on friday to get in contact with an activism rep and maybe to get a contact in Victoria at the union store to see how they did it.
Ima DM you. My partner and I are already pushing for unionizing in our city! If people hear that there is support all across the country they'll be very excited
