SMs really get bonuses for hiring minors?(self.starbucksbaristas)

Lately most of my shifts are with new hires, and after 4-5 days 2 of them just stand there staring at each other "What do we do?"
But we have only 2 people who know how to do anything needed, 2 people in training, and a 4 week employee going into a full 2 hour rush.
And somethings just dont click right away, they get stressed out easily, and our SM doesnt exactly know how to keep a not hostile tone to us during stressful situations...

It's not so much a bonus specifically for hiring minors, but there are lots of ways in which minors are less expensive. Because of labor laws and schedule conflicts with school they usually won't be able to work enough hours to qualify for full benefits. They also tend to be much more tolerant of poor working conditions because this is usually their first job and they don't know any better.

I see your point.
Kinda funny though because one of our minor employees whos really improved a lot lately got pissed off by our SM, so he went on a 10 and walked lol

Omg I once covered at this store not to long ago that practically all their workers were green beans. I was the veteran there even though I have only worked for Starbucks for a year and a couple month. I know it wasn’t the green beans fault but I had to practically solo bar during peak at a very busy store and keep helping green beans on register and drive thru because they didn’t know what to do and the shift in charge wasn’t very helpful while I was getting flooded with drinks and trying to keep the store in control, the shift decided just to chill in the back the whole time. Then when I asked the green beans if they can help in bar they told me that the manager skipped their training -_-. Essentially the choice was to solo bar and carry that store on my back or have the green beans help in bar but slow me down because of having to explain everything

I’m failing to see what this post has to do with minors?

Minors at their first job tend to be a bit slow at first.
Im a pretty fast and efficient worker now, but my first job @ 17 I was close to being fired because I was awful.

Your post still doesn’t mention minors at all?

I kinda assumed you'd know that the new hires I have to work with are the minors that stare at each other blankly during rush hour when they've had 5 days of training and should at least know a few things..

their age does not mean they are ignorant. they are a fresh green bean, point them in the right direction so they can learn and gain experience. being a minor does not mean they are lazy or bad at their job. i’m a minor and got POQ and am constantly told i’m a great employee. chances are you have a lot of minors because they were the only ones who sent in applications to your store.

I guess I’m failing to see how you’re attributing them standing around to being minors and not, you know, new hires.
