Has anyone else experienced an increase of sales due to COVID-19? (Barista Rant)(self.starbucksbaristas)

Before the outbreak, our little licensed store usually makes anywhere around $4000-$6000 on almost any given day; roughly $7000 during Happy Hour events (cursed be that name)
Now, on any given day with limited seating and near total dependency on DT to make sales, we are making around $7000-$8000. Just this previous Happy Hour, we made a bit more than $11,000. That’s way more than the Happy Hours we had last holiday season! To put this into perspective, I live in an average sized city (actually it’s kinda small tbh) in the middle of a not so densely populated province.
So on your average week, in the midst of a pandemic involving a new virus that is constantly evolving and adapting and with the entire medical field telling us to follow health and safety protocols, our little Starbucks is making at least $49k.
On top of this, we have: stubborn customers who clump in groups, customers who reach over the counter to grab sleeves and whatnot, customers who insist on sitting at closed off seating areas, and we are constantly out of at least ONE product.
Deadass, I would hop on any other job if it wasn’t for the fact that finding a new job in this city is like playing a game on the hardest difficulty setting.

Yep. My store’s sales are $2,000 to $3,000 above average every day this summer. It’s kinda shitty to hear our SM and DM talk about the money that the company lost from covid when for some reason, our store has gotten way busier with absolutely no support for it

You're telling me. My store is currently out of caramel drizzle, strawberry acai, classic, vanilla bean powder, frap chips, all iced tea infusions, all summer drinks (except kiwi), and sugar free anything. People are losing their minds and storming out and yet we are busier than ever

People are surprised that because they keep coming back amidst difficult times that stock eventually runs out? How shocking! Sarcasm towards our customer base aside, that sounds like hell.

We’ve gone from about $80,000 a week to $100,000 a week... it’s rough.

We’re the biggest in our district—it was even worse during the shutdown bc our store was the only one open in the area

How many people on a play during peak? That is insane!
unicornsong191 points2y ago
During peak we’ll have three on bar—cafe bar, mobile bar, and a drive bar, one on food/front, one in drive, one on CS? Sooooo about 6? Maybe 8 if it’s really bad.

We're up 30%, lately it's been 4-5 man peaks and 3 man closes. Everyone is exhausted and angry.

My store is up 18% yoy. We were the only store in the district to not have hours cut.

All we hear about is our manager saying we are down 25-35% but in the DCR, you know how you have to fill out the sales reports every night? We are overshooting the goal there every day, so idk.
