I had to stop a lady one time and tell her its one per customer, and then she brought her family over and each person bought one

Is that actually true, though?

We don’t have merch at my store, so the only issue we have is people calling and asking only to be disappointed. But I have never heard of a one per customer rule.

Here’s the thing. Starbucks buys these cups from the manufacturer for, probably, $2 and sells them for $20 because people will buy them. What is so different about someone buying them for $20 and selling them for $50 or whatever, because someone will buy them?

It’s not that I don’t think it’s obnoxious and annoying, but we literally live in a society built on the principles of capitalism, so of course people are going to behave that way.

I’ve noticed this on Mercari, the selling app. Starbucks cups are selling like crazy and for much more than they paid. Why is that? Are they limited edition?

Yeah they are limited edition and purposefully under manufactured and over hyped. Sometimes they get released in other countries but it barely drives the resell price down.

All seasonal cups are limited edition. What ya get is what ya get. No more are made after the manufacturing run ends
