Well, I guess it’s not really a rant because I’m not actually that upset about it. Just a little confused. But so I have my partner card on my app so I can just scan it instead of saying my numbers. I completely understand asking for an ID if a partner only says their numbers (because it’s starbucks policy). But asking for my ID after you scan my partner card seems a little overkill to me. I know we’re all a little more alert with the whole tiktok scam that’s been going around, but some random person isn’t going to be able to get my partner card on to their own app just from a receipt that happened to have my numbers on it.

I got pulled aside and talked to by my manager the other day for not IDing someone with a physical partner card.. like how are customers supposed to get those?! What is the point.. not only is it unnecessary, but you're not leaving any options for trans partners to not have to out themselves...

If it makes you feel any better, they’re wrong. I’ve posted the policy so many time recently, but what the hell, what’s one more.
From the Partner Guide:
> **Obtaining the Partner Markout and Merchandise Discount:** To obtain the weekly partner markout and in-store merchandise discount in any participating company- operated store, partners must present their current Partner Card OR share their partner number with valid ID to confirm name at the Point of Sale (POS) register. The partner number will be validated for the discount. The partner may present a Partner Card in one of the following versions:
> • temporary paper Starbucks Partner Card along with a photo identification,
> • plastic Starbucks Partner Card, or
> • Starbucks Partner Card image on the Starbucks App.
So Starbucks policy *only* requires you to show ID if you “share” (which I think we can all agree means saying it) your number or if you have a temporary paper Partner Card (which I don’t think is even a thing anymore?). If you have a plastic Partner Card or a digital Partner Card, you’re *not* required to show your ID.

I'm forking furrious because our DM passed down the rule that we ID everyone. Like, what? Yeah, way to out every trans partner in our district.
My name is not on my ID, but it certainly is on my app above my partner card, which I keep with me as policy dictates.
Partner resources gave me a cagey answer about giving local management the grace to make those decisions at the store levels.
So much fury.

I actually have question about this... I am a green bean. I added my partner number to my app. I have children and we share this app, because I pay for their things. When they are out and about and order after all this covid is over, it’s gonna come up as discounted. What is the correct way to do this? Do I need to have a different account for them? Thanks! 😊

Just add another gift card to your app without your partner numbers and it shouldn't discount

If you have your partner numbers on any card on the app, if you mobile order then you will receive your discount. Also even if there is another card, what would stop the kids from using the partner card and getting the discount. I think the safest way would have them use a different account

Good idea! Thanks!!👍🏼👏👏

You need to remove their access to your partner numbers, either by getting them their own account or removing your partner numbers from the shared account.
