today my manager came up to me and told me he needs me to train someone next week, we briefly talked about me being a trainer but havent done anything past that. im not sure if he’s gonna make me do any of the “official training” to be a trainer beforehand is there anything important i should know or any tips to train during COVID?? we keep losing green beans fast bc they get super overwhelmed and i just want to make it easier for them thanks!!!

Just follow the guide they give you and make sure to really encourage them so they don’t feel like they’re failing. I also always remind them that its totally fine to ask a ton of questions and that we are all there for them! Hopefully you do the barista trainer training beforehand because that’ll help you a lot. I don't know if you have the ipads in your store, but if you do, there are training guides for each of the main positions of the store. Find these resources and use them to your advantage! Also, remember that they are scared and new, make them feel as comfortable as possible. Also, if your store is pretty clique-y, try to engrain them into the group as soon as possible.
