Customer connection (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by ResidentialSaltbox
A couple days ago a customer called one of our shifts a dumb fat bitch in drive thru when she asked if she wanted her iced tea lemonade sweetened.

Yet we are supposed to be perky and peppy and kissing every customers asses. We are treated like less than human but expected to relish the ground customers walk on.

I hate it here.

The “Third Place” rules were recently updated (as of a month or so ago) and now make customers *equally* responsible for their own behavior. When a customer acts this way, you can immediately refuse service. FYI, the new wording also includes failing to follow local health guidelines/mandates.

If your SM hasn’t already, there are new rules that can be posted in the cafe.

Any where I can access those rules?

I’m so glad I don’t work a drive thru, I’d throw the drink on that bitch. $9.14 an hour (what I’m paid in my district)isn’t even worth being looked at the wrong way, let alone that kind of abuse.

Customers really like to act like employees can’t spit in their drink. Don’t be rude to the people handling your food.

Right? I had a similar experience where a customer was a complete asshole because he wanted to cheat the system making every star count and even though he said he wanted to use his stars one way, he immediately changed his mind and made me void two transactions. I was defending my barista and he was enough of an asshole to say to me "are you going to apologize?" I did apologize but it was because I was sorry I didn't charge him extra for being rude. I wanted him out of my store and I shouldn't have to be humiliated like that
