I hate how we have to deal with customer's bullshit yet we get paid minimum wage. This job requires both physical , mental and EMOTIONAL stability
cheshthekiid 17 points 2y ago
Omg what did he say???
sunflower_0053 98 points 2y ago
He apologized. His girlfriend didn't realize he had flipped us off and she looked mad

I find it really funny that customers don't realize we can see them and we can hear them the whole time they are at the box
sunflower_0053 1 points 2y ago
I KNOW RIGHT
thedestinysstepchild -105 points 2y ago
I dont understand the point of this
Chronos1225 76 points 2y ago
I bet you love when people come to your work and abuse you
thedestinysstepchild -92 points 2y ago
No, I just don't ever post videos of myself on the job because I'm on the job. Also, how is flipping someone off abuse?
Supadupastein 48 points 2y ago
It’s obviously abuse. People need to stand up for themselves, fuck whatever corporate would think. Workers don’t need to take abuse
thedestinysstepchild -13 points 2y ago
Saying "its obviously abuse" doesn't explain why its abuse. We deal with customers like this everyday, it is not news that corporate doesn't care about us. I just think posting videos like this is done in poor taste.
wandering_mind_ 25 points 2y ago
How is not abuse? The gesture is physically telling someone “f*ck you”. Most people in the US know what this means. And it’s all over a banana.

I know what a middle finger means, I just think that out of ALL the things we face as baristas this is not the thing to make a big deal out of. I bet the dude thought we was getting away with something because he probably wasn't even aware of the camera being there. But either way he is an idiot, my point is that I was raised to not give people attention when they act like children. Because if you give them attention you're giving into what they want. It makes my days at work easier to not let people bother me so much.

Why are you guys here? Do you not know which subreddit you're in? Or are you just a couple of scabs looking to get picked?
thedestinysstepchild 0 points 2y ago
I feel like you're upset about something.
Backyard-Creep -46 points 2y ago
I’m with you on that. Seems pretty unnecessary to me
TylerTheBox -42 points 2y ago
To flex for internet pointerinos.

These kinds of videos can really help people, especially new employees, learn how to politely deal with rude customers. A lot of customer service employees dont realize that it is okay to stand up for yourself in some way but there is a specific way you have to do it in customer service context that is an entirely different skill that Starbucks doesnt teach you in training. So videos like this can be very helpful
thedestinysstepchild 1 points 2y ago
I just don't see how this helps, there is no documentation of the customers behavior before or after what the barista says. I agree that people don't know how to stand up for themselves in food service, I just don't see how someone who struggles with standing up for themselves benefits from seeing 12 seconds of a spy cam view with little to no understanding of whats going on.
