This sign can’t stop me cause I can’t read!

Ok I feel like this is just a weird power trip move from your SM. Those are personal lockers for partners to use, and there are no specific policies related to them. It’s on us if we lose stuff from them, but having them not be for overnight use seems a little ridiculous.
sdkid92 34 points 2y ago
True the only time I’d see this being okay is if partners leave really dirty aprons in there long enough to get gross and smelly. Which I’ve seen happen before. Hopefully that’s maybe the case and the SM isn’t just controlling.

There are policies stating that yes, they are for our personal use, during our shift. Once our shift is over we are responsible for gathering a our personal belongings and brining them home.

As most places do, they go by "were not responsible if it gets stolen or damaged if it gets left behind, as we have policies that require you to take your stuff home"
Mariiriini 18 points 2y ago
Actually there are specific policies. Personal food can't be left overnight in the fridges, personal belongings can't be left overnight in the store. It's not usually enforced, but it's policy and can be used to push back against poor behavior.

Every time I've worked at any business with this locker situation, the inevitable result is almost every single locker, if not every single one, being locked for someone's personal use indefinitely. Considering that looks like it's a 2 column and probably 5-6 tall locker, that's like 12 lockers tops. My store has 29 partners and the average morning floor would take up 11 lockers alone. Is that fair to the other 6 partners that work in the mornings when the first 11 partners got to the lockers first and filled them up?
eat-reddit-tv 7 points 2y ago
100% correct
Unipanther368 2 points 2y ago
29 partners? For one Starbucks? Geesh
Mariiriini 6 points 2y ago
Yeah haha. And it's still a bitch to get shifts covered. Doesn't help that 5/6 shifts don't want to work the weekends, so we all work the weekends and make it impossible for me to request literally one saturday off occasionally.
Unipanther368 2 points 2y ago
Oh wow. We have 5-6 partners and we still usually get shifts covered. Granted, we're a licensed store (in a grocery store), but still
Simplyroro 2 points 2y ago
My store has 34 and 6 lockers
mr-potatohead_ 2 points 2y ago
My store has 31 and no lockers 😂😂😭😭😭
blondiebarista 49 points 2y ago
Is your store okay?? If my SM tripped about every little thing like this I would go crazy
gayz0mbie [OP] 15 points 2y ago
To be fair there have been some items left here(my stuff included, so in a way i understand lol
This is my first time working with this sm so im guessing this is just how they are
eat-reddit-tv 11 points 2y ago
It’s so frustrating when you open and it’s difficult to find a place for your jacket because people leave their stuff for WEEKS at a time
strangeyeena 11 points 2y ago
The lockers in my store were a full blown closet 24/7. Lotion, random jackets, lighters, snacks, an apron you can steal for your shift because you forgot yours.
Wkd_Wendy327 11 points 2y ago
Wait you have lockers!?!?! We legit have the floor for our stuff. Thank goodness I have trustworthy partners or I'd be screwed
Kaywin 7 points 2y ago
>**Do Not** Leave

Well, I mean, ok, but...
gayz0mbie [OP] 9 points 2y ago
My favorites the "item overnight?"i mean i dont know pal you tell me
Kaywin 3 points 2y ago
Take home **all**

Yeah, they didn’t need all that merch anyway. 😎
gayz0mbie [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Free clothes ,'B)
emosweatshirt 6 points 2y ago
wow, who has the time to police their partners like this? red flag for me
SymptomOfTheStorm 1 points 2y ago
Yeah - seems overly aggressive. Especially the red ink. Holding people accountable for the belongings policy doesn’t need to be this intense. Yikes
serenity_flows13 5 points 2y ago
Former partner here. My manager literally threw away the lockers in our store about 5 months before I quit. Nowhere for anyone to put anything safely. Had to have complete trust that no one would go through your bag just sitting on the computer desk, since the security cameras were pointless because they decided to keep the boxes of cups and stuff up on top of the fridges literally blocking the one that had the desk in view.
ladyelenawf 4 points 2y ago
This is almost r/dontdeadopeninside material.
shosh_c 2 points 2y ago
Items overnight? Home @ night!
4filth 3 points 2y ago
i wish my store even had lockers :( we have like... those shoe organizers or whatever
cs_phoenix 3 points 2y ago
Your phone camera adds a watermark? That’s so stupid haha

Edit: lmao it’s nothing against OP, my comment was criticizing the phone’s brand
gayz0mbie [OP] 5 points 2y ago
NO NO ITS OK it really is stupid like i feel like a dbag flaunting their phone brand!
I found a way to turn it off lmao

Yeah no it ok !!

official_koda_ 1 points 2y ago
Be like the customers-don’t read, and leave all belongings there overnight!
caaakebaby 1 points 2y ago
I wonder if they want things left overnight or not?! It’s not really clear. 🧐🤷🏽‍♀️🤣
tired-barista 1 points 2y ago
you guys have lockers ??????????? how do i get my sm to get them for our store 😭
King_Spamula 1 points 2y ago
What's the point of lockers if you can't leave anything in them overnight? Where are partners supposed to put backup aprons, sharpies, pens, nametags, etc? Not all of us have cars, and what happens when you forget something at home but the store doesn't have anything extra?

As long as it's clearly stated that the store isn't responsible for any stolen goods after close, I don't see what the problem is.
greenleafsheep 1 points 2y ago
My SM uses, all but like 3 lockers, for storage of random shit for the store like nozzles for whip canisters
puttybutty 1 points 2y ago
I'm trying to figure out how to read this....
