Oh my god. When people come in asking for “the Tik Tok drink” like which one, there’s more Tik Tok drinks than there are sand particles on Mars.

I quit when someone got attitude bc i didn’t know what the fuck a “cosmo and Wanda” was. Haven’t missed that shit yet

Sometimes I make tik tok drinks kinda ugly on purpose. Especially the ones that actually taste bad and are only for looks... oh your foam didn’t come out beautiful? Not insta-worthy? Bummer.....

Had someone try to tell me that it’s my job to know all the tik tok drinks. I laughed and said “actually no. It’s my job to know all the STARBUCKS drinks.”

It causes me physical pain whenever I'd hear a teenager try to order whatever nonsense tiktok drink via the drive thru. I feel like a dick, but I tend to just play dumb unless they know a recipe.

I hit them with the same line every time- “so that’s not actually on our menu, but if you know the recipe we’d be happy to make it for you!”

This usually results them listing how it’s made because a lot of those drinks come with recipes. Otherwise you can usually get a good sense of what they want by asking questions, but if they’re rude or insist that we should know how to make it then I just stonewall with the “sorry, but again that is not a drink on our menu”

I have no issue playing dumb. Oh my god a Cotton* Candy frap? Never heard it it, what’s in it? Oh you don’t know? Sorry can’t make it, how unfortunate.

I AM LOVING the energy in this sub the last couple months. The stuff that makes it to my front page is almost always grievances and disdain for the company.

Change is possible. These people don't care about us, they just want to extract profit from the work we do for a minimum wage. As much work as possible for as little money as possible. We NEED to fight for our rights.

WHEN TALKING ABOUT UNIONIZATION keep it on the down low. Try not to talk about it at work, don't talk about it in official store communications (FB messenger, FB groups etc) and only talk to people you trust. Start slow, talk about grievances, then introduce the idea of collective action to answer those grievances. It IS possible. It HAS succeeded. And knowing how absolutely cowardly this company is, they'll fold SO easily if we manage to unionize, or even are just scared of the possibility. USA employees, your mileage may vary :( but the only way to make it better is multilateral struggle: political and labour.

Everytime some customer comes in speaking in the forbidden secret menu script but yet dont even know what its made out of I lose a little bit of my soul

And also customers apparently don’t realize that When I’m at the POS I’m most likely not the one making the drink.. so you have to be very specific because we have to communicate it to bar. And I don’t have enough room to write in the ask me section “sprinkle matcha on top of vanilla sweet cream foam” 🙄🙄🙄🙄This concept is so simple yet most people don’t get it 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I actually hurt a girl’s feelings today when she ordered an iced white mocha with sweet cream cold foam and caramel drizzle. I responded with “yuck.” Then I apologized profusely and explained that we only make that drink 5K times a day. I still feel bad.

I had someone try and order the apple pie Frappuccino a few weeks ago. Tbh I wish I remembered the recipe to try for later, it honestly sounded good
