Starbucks Credit Card? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by pink_haired_bitch
As a barista, would it be worth it to have a Starbucks credit card as well?

Given the great perks and drinks during break would it even be worth it for earning extra stars? I’m in the process of finding a job (lots of places I’m talking to, I’ve had an interview and I’m being recommended to a store that will be opening soon). I’ve been looking at the Starbucks credit card and I would use it how i am now, but I’m wondering if/when I get hired if it would even be worth having? I’m not going to bother running a credit report and having an annual charge if I won’t even be needing extra stars if I’m hired as a barista. I’m wondering if anyone else has the card and is a barista, and if so how does that work for you? Thanks in advance :)

I have the visa and am a barista! I use the stars to pay for my friends/kids drinks when we are together or I send a mobile order for them to have a special treat 1000 miles away. I just used 800 stars on 2 new tumblers. So I guess what I'm saying is yes, it's worth it if you have alot of people to treat or buy stuff for. But if it's just you, you get a free food and drink everyday of the week, so you wouldn't need the stars.

You get free food and drink every day of the week? I thought it was just on shift and 30% off every other time? Cause if that’s true then I’ll probably be good without the card lol. Just thinking about the days I won’t be working that I’ll still want my caffeine fix

Yes, because of covid-19, Starbucks is giving us a free food and drink everyday till March 18!

Honestly no. The best credit cards are the ones that give cash back on groceries, gas or dining out. I have a discover credit card and I get credited every billing cycle as “cash back” when I buy those things

I have one as well, I get points back and I’ve used those for deals my bank offers on food (a $50 chipotle gift card for $40 for example) and I end up saving a lot. In the moment it seems like nothing but in the end it adds up. As a college student that’s another $10 I can add to school supplies haha. But I was considering having both and after reading restrictions on the Starbucks card use that one for groceries and Starbucks and then using my other card for everything else because the points don’t discriminate so get the best bang for my buck essentially. Thank you though
