I know you are probably tired of seeing stories like this but I’d just like to share mine and see if anyone has experienced anything similar. I’m a barista at a location that had a covid outbreak. A partner I work with on my time block tested positive. Some employees on this block are being told by management to self isolate, and others on the same block are being told to continue working. Coworkers that I know have had shifts with said partner very recently are going to continue to work. What does this mean for our open cafe? New customers and regulars alike with children and families? Our coworkers? Our families and friends? The policies put in place regarding covid-19 devalue us and it just feels like a slap in the face.
I’m just venting and I don’t know what to do but I’d like to know if anyone else had experienced something similar.
