Isn’t it such a great feeling to yell out peoples names that won’t show up for 20 minutes while cafe orders just stare at you like you’re a jerk for not making their drink. Also, both of our bars were not working for the first 5 hours of the day so we were able to turn off the mobile app!!!
teet_teet15 points2y ago
We don’t call out mobile orders. They come up and ask for them. We know almost every one of our customers though, we are extremely high volume but it’s a neighborhood store so we know them all.

Godspeed friend!!! Sending vibes. I know that struggle well.
official_koda_25 points2y ago
There were an insane amount of mobiles today...and for what. I would think people would be packing the beach for Labor Day weekend.

Bux is the pregame
ageese3523 points2y ago
I too was on warming this morning! There was a butter croissant that was mobile ordered and I heard another one being ordered in the drive thru so I threw 2 in the oven and then had to pull ~10 stickers before I got to the DT croissant
kandiwarriorprincess16 points2y ago
Same here but also with food!!
closingshiftbarista9 points2y ago
Yes! Why was everyone so hungry today???
proletarithot8 points2y ago
Is your SM willing to shut off mobile for a minute? My store manager turns off MOP if we’re down too many partners, or if it’s just exceptionally crazy. We’re the second busiest store in the district though
teet_teet10 points2y ago
We can’t shut mobile off any more. It has to be called into the DM and they email someone who turns it off. It’s not quick or accurate. When we have to close early it’s never off in time and people are still placing orders. It’s ridiculous. We used to be able to bump it offline for a minute so we could catch up but no more.

I think one of the front of house PoS can be shut off which will stop them
proletarithot3 points2y ago
That sucks mightily. Technically your SM can do it from any computer, but I think the DM has to grant them access. We’re lucky that our DM isn’t a complete numbers-driven fiend. Best of luck to you!!!!

I was on bar for 5 hours straight, no breaks, and it was literally non stop mobiles. We did not have one lull or break for even a second. It was absolute hell.
jakhei7 points2y ago
Same. Our mobile sticker comes out the same machine as our cafe, for every cafe order, there was 4-5 multiple drink orders behind it.
G37_is_numberletter7 points2y ago
Must be a full moon cause the shit Weasels and the juggalos are out in force today
Jeffuk883 points2y ago
It's because when they feel that they're comfortable coming to a store for the first time since COVID, they surprised that EVERYONE ELSE HAS THE SAME IDEA
dalenakitty5 points2y ago
Yeah I wish they would do something because during peak every day we end up with so many mobiles that our lobby is packed, dt is to the street, and there's a line in cafe to place orders.
Brilliant_Story6091 points2y ago
Yup, sounds like my store!
Craftyallthetime4 points2y ago
I heard from one of my managers yesterday that the system is now holding the release of a order to the printer based on where the order was placed in relation to the store… so someone who orders and is 5 minutes away should print before someone who was 20 minutes away prints. It was causing artificial rushes especially when the one warming printer manages both cafe and mobile orders and it’s printing 20+ mobile orders before the cafe orders that are waiting in the store… until we have to tell some people to wait outside due to reduced pandemic occupancy limits.
EuniceBKidden4 points2y ago
Same, my friend, same.
Brilliant_Story6093 points2y ago
I’m at a very very high volume location in the Houston suburbs and we started curbside a week before we opened our cafe. Well, let’s just say it takes 8-9 partners to run morning peak comfortably with out the added curbside. Now only scheduled 6 partners and make one of them run outside every 3 minutes often pushing their way through the 8 people standing about waiting to pick up their orders after shouting “Drive-Thru get your own warming!” Only to come back in to 15 food stickers. This is my life now. Upside? I get more than half my daily steps in from a 4 hour shift.
Simplyroro2 points2y ago
Some woman called my store to let me know where she was parked. I said maam im sorry I don't know why you are telling me this. She replied for curbside delivery, I laughed and said if you would like your mobile order you need to pick it up in the lobby or thru drive thru. She then said no thanks you can bring it out, to which I said sorry we dont do that here. She hung up. So glad we dont habe curbside
Brilliant_Story6091 points2y ago
Oh make no mistake my friend, it’s coming!!
Simplyroro2 points2y ago
And thats the day this 14 yr partner walks away.
princeadakias3 points2y ago
friday we had an 11 drink mobile order come through in the middle of peak with 4 people on the floor, we all wanted to die LMAOOO and today was somehow worse but at least we had more people working. i’m doing 8 hour shifts like 10 days in a row it’s just nuts dude
Simplyroro1 points2y ago
How lucky you are. Block scheduling means no one works 8hour shifts in my store.
princeadakias1 points2y ago
i guess my store is understaffed or too small for how much traffic we get? i’m not really sure ahaha you’re right though, i shouldn’t complain. it really has been crazy tho
charlenebean3 points2y ago
The past two days I’ve worked it’s been like this.. like 30+ stickers and people flooding the cafe. Insanity lmao
chinfox3 points2y ago
labor day weekend vibe
normaldud2 points2y ago
The worst are the Ubereats deliveries. My dt store will have 15 different deliveries during peak.
Brilliant_Story6092 points2y ago
Are any of y’all doing curbside yet? Talk about taking the mobile shit storm to the next level!
conn6631 points2y ago
my store has been really slow to introduce mobile order and pay but every day it’s just DT mayhem. takes 10x longer to do a 2 minute task because there’s just an endless stream of cars
[deleted]1 points2y ago
My store is the same, we get all the mobiles in giant clusters. it’s horrible. we also get most mobiles in our district, or at least use to... i’m sure other stores have more now cus of covid
