I don’t know who needs to hear this but Target and Best Buy start out at $15 an hour (self.starbucksbaristas)

That’s all

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you need to get active politically so all of you can make a half decent min wage.

Tarbucks is the WORST. Speaking as a former employee, the department is chronically understaffed and you often end up by yourself for hours. The pay truly isn't worth it IMO

The only reason I don’t apply for those jobs is because Starbucks pays the same in my city as Target and Best Buy do but I feel this so many places in general pay better in Starbucks, I live in Los Angeles though so $15 isn’t really enough

Target paid me 15 in washington and then offered 13.50 in oregon. This is state by state

It’s still more than starbucks... and the 5 states (VA, IL, NC, WI, and MO) I’ve checks 3 of which are mid west all pay $15 idk guy I’ve been told buy ALOT people it’s not by state I get that I could be but that’s not what I’ve been told

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but even though you’ll get paid more per hour, you will work waaaay less hours (at least at target) and won’t get any benefits unless you work 30 hours or more per week which as a team member you won’t get.

I used to be a target SBUX barista, but I got hired at corporate for the developing aspect. Worked both for basically half a year then stuck with Starbucks. Although this was when target paid 12$ so I’ve been debating working there for like 2 days a week or so

Starbucks pays me $15 so this means nothing to me 😔
Jeffyhere43 [OP] 1 points 2y ago
I mean I get $16 but it’s kinda getting to the point where it’s not worth it

This post is irrelevant without claiming what city you live in...
OP i think this called for a quick edit
Jeffyhere43 [OP] -1 points 2y ago
Why? I’m pretty sure it’s a country wide thing for target and Best Buy
AldiWillYouMarryMe 5 points 2y ago
I’m sure state to state.
me-meme-account 2 points 2y ago
Well reddit is viewed by baristas in more then one country. Its to bad you are unaware of that. If only the US would teach world history rather then just single minded patriotic US history.

I dont blame you. I blame your terribly flawed education system and the inherently flawed social media echo chamber.

15$/hr is a blessed minimum wage in my country, like i said in my first post. Add a location to your post.
Even isolated to US states, I am sure the minimum wage must be different from state to state.

Edit: just realized who my audience is. This comment is going to be downvoted into oblivion because I sorta trash talked the US. I hope you realize each downvote only proves my point. I will take each down vote as a success ;P

Again please educate me on that if I’m wrong
Jeffyhere43 [OP] 1 points 2y ago
Am I wrong to assume that when talking about the US the USD symbol $ would be used and when talking about a different country I would use their currency symbol? Idk why you would think I’d be talking about any other country than the one using USD?

Copy and paste from Wikipedia:

Dollar (symbol: $) is the name of more than 20 currencies. They include the United States dollar, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Hong Kong dollar, New Zealand dollar, Singapore dollar, New Taiwan dollar, Jamaican dollar, Liberian dollar, Namibian dollar, Brunei dollar, and several other.
