Mental health Q (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by SirenAnon
If I check myself into a mental health ward, I know I won’t get paid but will I keep my job? What do I have to do? Call PRSC or whatever? I’m not ok.

i had to take three months off, 2 weeks inpatient, 4 weeks partial hospitalization, and 6 weeks outpatient. my manager got me in contact with sedgwick and i was able to get paid through all three months for short term disability, and i was able to get my regular hours back when i was cleared to come back. let your manager know that you need to check in, and take whatever time you need for yourself. you’ll get through this 🤍

You may get paid, depending on how long you’ve work there. You would at minimum quality for unpaid leave. Notify your manager and check yourself in. You can contact PRC after you’re stabilized. Be safe and take care of yourself.

Do you know where I could find that info out? Like if I’m at work?

You can actually access it from home on the Partner hub under Benefits for paid disability and Partner and Family support for unpaid.

They both work the same way, in terms of initiating the process, just two different (but similar) sets of paperwork.
